Naugard I-31 |
N-(1,4-Dimethylpentyl)-N'-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine and 2-s-butyl-4,6-dinitrophenol |
Naugard I-31 is a formulated blend of Naugard I-3 and Naugard I-5 which has been commercially proven to dramatically reduce polymer formation and tar viscosity in monomer manufacturing processes. * Styrene monomer distillation * Divinylbenzene distillation * p-methylstyrene distillation * Naugard I-31 has been used in one of the world largest styrene plants since 1984 and in other world-scale styrene plants since 1987 and 1990. * Superior performance compared to dinitrophenol polymerization inhibitors, especially at elevated temperatures. * Unique blend of both a true inhibitor (I-3) and a retarder (I-5). * Less toxic than dinitrophenol alone. * Supplied as a concentrated liquid in ethylbenzene or styrene to provide safe, economical, and facile handling. * Higher solubility in ethylbenzene and styrene than dinitrophenol inhibitors * Ratio of blend components formulated to meed individual customer needs and performance requirements. * Maximum performance is attained in the presence of air. |
