Blocked Amine Urethane Curative |
|
CAYTUR 31 is a blocked delayed-action diamine curative for use primarily with urethane elastomers based on toluene diisocyanate and polyether polyols. It consists of a complex of methylene dianiline (MDA) and sodium chloride, dispersed in dioctyl phthalate. It has a very low free MDA content. At room temperature, it is virtually non-reactive. However, when heated to 115 - 160(C (235-320(F), the salt complex unblocks and the freed MDA rapidly cures the urethane elastomer. CAYTUR 31 has essentially infinite pot life when mixed with TDI-based polyether prepolymers at room temperature. It is also possible to use this product with MDI based polyether prepolymers. Vulcanizates have physical properties similar to those of vulcanizates cured with MBCA (4,4'-methylene-bis-(2-chloroaniline). |
