Safoam AP-40 |
|
SAFOAM AP-40 is a medium temperature styrenic masterbatch of an endothermic/exothermic chemical nucleating and blowing agent for the creation of a foam structure in thermoplastic injection molding and extrusion applications. SAFOAM AP-40 contains SAFOAM P powder specially blended with Azodicarbonamide loaded at 40% and 60% of a special surfactant package based on a styrenic resin and an SEBS rubber, which improve melt tension and melt flow. It is commonly used in injection molding for the creation of structural foam composites. In extrusion operations, it is used for the creation of small cells in medium density extrudates. Recommended for ABS, PVC and Elastomer based thermoplastics that reach the decomposition temperature during injection molding or extrusion. SAFOAM RPC-40 is commonly used in large injection molded parts to create a standard cellular structure for medium density foam applications. SAFOAM RPC-40 can be used in various applications in conjunction with gas counter-pressure and gas assist molding technologies. *Benefits: - Creates a standard closed-cell foam structure - Improves melt flow & dispersion in thermoplastics - Improves melt strength - In-line paintable - Improves cycle time in injection molding - Increases extrusion output rate - Achieves significant weight reduction - Enhances surface appearance - No pin holes - FDA approved ?safe for food contact - pH balanced and buffered formula - Improves process economics |
