Troysan 586
1,2-Benzisothiazolin-3-one and proylene glycol
2634-33-5
Troysan 586 is an effective broad spectrum liquid preservative designed to inhibit the growth of micro-organisms such as bacteria, yeast, and fungi in aqueous based formulations.
Troysan 586 provides long term protection in aqueous-based paints and coatings, adhesives, joint cements, sealants, caulks, printing inks, metal working fluids, polymer emulsions, and pigment dispersions.
The actual use level of Troysan 586 required for optimum effectiveness in your product is determined by the individual composition and end use patterns of the final system.
In most aqueous systems, use levels of 0.02 to 0.35% (0.2-3.5 lbs. per 1000 lbs.) of finished formulation weight is generally sufficient.
Technical assistance is available from Troy's Technical Service laboratories to help determine the optimum level of Troysan 586 needed in specific end use formulations.
