K-LIG, potassium leonardite, maintains rheological properties and lowers fluid loss in water-based drilling fluids containing large amounts of potassium.
K-LIG provides potassium ions which stabilize with formation shales and clays.
*Applications/Functions: Provide rheological control, Control filtration rates, Provide potassium ions for shale inhibition
*Advantages: Reduces the effects of contamination, Emulsifies oil in water, Reduces potassium chloride requirements in some applications, Stable at temperatures approaching 400'F(205'C). |
