Stev-Cat CRC catalyzes the action of caustic on the fibre surfaces, permitting modification with less caustic soda, lower temperature, and a shorter process time.
Softer hand becomes evident with as little as 2-4% of weight loss, and becomes quite pronounced when the weight loss levels approach 8-10%.
This level does not normally compromise total fabric strength requirements.
While knits may be processed as received, a short scour for removal of processing lubricants and oils is still abvisable.
Woven polyester must be desized prior to the caustic soda denier reduction process, otherwise the effectiveness of the treatment will be difficult for repeatability. |
