SAFOAM FP-40 is a medium temperature styrenic masterbatch of an endothermic chemical nucleating and blowing agent for the creation of a fine foam structure in thermoplastic injection molding and extrusion applications.
SAFOAM FP-40 contains 40% SAFOAM FP powder and 60% of a special surfactant package based on a styrenic resin and an SEBS rubber, which improve melt tension and melt flow.
It is commonly used in injection molding for the elimination of sink marks, reduction of part warpage, and for minor weight reduction.
In extrusion operations, it is used for the creation of fine size cells in direct gas applications.
Recommended for styrenic based thermoplastics that reach the decomposition temperature during injection molding or extrusion.
SAFOAM FP-40 is commonly used to create a fine cell structure for medium density foam applications.
SAFOAM FP-40 can be used in various applications in conjunction with gas counter-pressure and gas assist molding technologies.
