Lipidure PMB |
|
Important properties such as elasticity, smoothness and softness of the skin surface, essential for healthy and beautiful skin, depend on water content. Maintenance of adequate water content is dependent on two important functions of the stratum corneum: retention of moisture and prevention of water loss. Over time, environmental changes and aging impede the skin's natural moisturizing functions, resulting in dryness and formation of lines and wrinkles. Moisture retention agents such as hyaluronic acid, phospholipids and sphingolipids have long been utilized in skin treatment products. But their effectiveness has been limited due to their inability to prevent water loss. Lipidure moisturization systems offer a complete solution to the dry skin dilemma by addressing both retention of moisture and prevention of water loss. In addition to promoting absorption and retention of water greater than hyaluronic acid, Lipidure helps prevent water loss by forming a barrier film on the skin while stabilizing lamellar skin structure. This results in superior moisturization as water is actually "docked" within the stratum corneum. In addition to bona fide moisturization efficacy, Lipidure offers safety and ease of use. The patented Lipidure technology comes to us from the medical device arena where, as a coating, it offered excellent water binding capacity and minimal irritation. Lipidure is water-soluble and can be easily incorporated into most conventional systems. *Application - skin care, hair care |
