Trimethylolpropane
Trimethylolpropane is white flake maily used for the production of alkyd resin, polyurethane resin and plasticizers. This product is mainly employed for the production of Alkyd resins for varnishes, particularly medium or short oil,
Polyester resins for varnishes and polyurethane foams, Isocyanate adducts for varnishes and polyurethane foams, Plasticizers.
Trimethylolpropane gives the alkyd and urethane resins for varnishes improved heat and resistance to corrosive chemicals, as well as enhanced toughness, flexibility, color and color stability. It is the preferred polyalcohol in the formulation of synthetic lubricants for engines operating at high temperatures and a widely employed raw material for platicizers. Containing three primary hydroxyl groups, Trimethylolpropane undergoes all the typical reactions to make compounds of simple configuration useful for various applications.
