Benzotriazole is also called 1,2,3-benzotriazole or azimido-benzene, the shortened form of which is BTA.
BTA, with molecular formular of C6H5N3 and molecular weight of 119.0, is given a commodity code of T706.
BTA is mainly used as an antirusting agent and a corrosion inhibitor for metals, which is widely used in antirust oil or grease products.
It is also used in other products, such as gas-phase inhibitor for copper and copper alloy, lubricating oil additive, treatment agent of circulating water, and antifreezing fluid, as well as emulsifying agent, coating and dye intermediate, photographic antifogging agent, plant growth regulator, polymer stabilizer, mineral beneficiating agent for precious metals, and ultraviolet absorbent.
The derivatives of BTA are often used for producing weedicide, bactericide, anti-inflammation and anticancer drugs, and new corrosion inhibitors as well. |
