Octomer DOM is the 2-ethylhexyl ester of maleic acid.
This product may be considered for use as a plasticizer for vinyl resins and for applications involving co-polymerization with polyvinyl chloride and vinyl acetates. It is a reactive monomer, and serves as an internal plasticizer adding elasticity and flexibility in copolymer films.
This reaction produces chemical bonding, thus the copolymer is plasticized internally, and thus cannot become brittle due evaporation of plasticizer. |
